Bio

I am a Full Professor of Distributed Computing at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV).

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Spain, in 2009. During my doctoral studies, I worked at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. In the same year, I joined URV.

I received the Best Paper Award (IEEE LCN 2007) and the Best Dataset Award (ACM IMC 2015). I have published more than 90 scientific articles in IEEE P2P, ACM/IFIP Middleware, IEEE ICDCS, IEEE ICDE, IEEE INFOCOM, and USENIX FAST.

Over the years, I have participated in several European research projects:

I also coordinated the Horizon Europe project CloudSkin (Grant No. 101092646).

I have been involved in several Spanish research projects in Cloud and Edge Computing. I also contributed to the coordination of CloudLess, under the UNICO R&D Cloud program supporting Spanish companies participating in the IPCEI-CIS initiative.

I have served as an evaluator for research and technology transfer projects funded by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) and CDTI.

I have been a visiting researcher at IBM Research Ireland. I have served on Technical Program Committees of IEEE P2P, ACM SYSTOR, IEEE IPDPS, IEEE/ACM CCGrid, IEEE Cloud, and Euro-Par. I have also served as Guest Editor for Computer Networks (Elsevier).
